During peak spend periods, our growing adtech client faced mounting operational friction that put campaign launch timelines at risk. High creative volumes strained existing QA processes, creating bottlenecks that delayed launches and increased pressure on margins, especially during critical quarters when speed-to-market directly impacted business performance. 

To address these bottlenecks, SEBPO built a custom AI tool that serves as an automated, quality-assurance (QA) first pass for HTML ad units. 

Before the tool, our senior QA developers were tied up in manual QA work rather than pursuing higher-value innovation and optimization of client workflows. These SEBPO team members had to manually audit every line of code and variables in dynamic creative (DCO) units. 

This tedious process inevitably led to delayed QA cycles and pushed error detection to the final stage of production. These late-identified errors, such as broken click tags or unminified files, increased the risk of missed launch dates and extended turnaround times. 

Strategic Intervention

The SEBPO-designed AI tool automatically flags and resolves technical non-compliance, including spelling errors, missing alt text, and bloated JS libraries. For this client, the tool enabled the team to move from manual, reactive troubleshooting to an automated, proactive validation model, resulting in:

  • Faster approval cycles for every asset sent to the ad server 
  • Fewer resubmissions
  • Significantly lower rejection rates

 

Furthermore, the tool provides the client with more rapid, scalable quality assurance across high volumes of ad units while ensuring the code is fully commented and optimized. It generates a detailed QA report, extracts variables from manifest files, and provides updated versions of any modified assets (commented and minified). The goal of building this tool was to:

  • Catch issues early
  • Ensure delivery-ready
  • High-performance creative files
  • Streamline ad unit validation

Outcome

With this innovative solution on their side, the SEBPO Team maintains 100% SLA compliance during peak volume periods, such as Q4, without the need for additional, temporary staffing. 

The time required to generate a comprehensive 40+ point QA report and verify copy and variables from manifest files was reduced by approximately 60% to 75%, compared to previous manual processing. As a result, campaigns launched faster, throughput capacity increased, and per-creative costs decreased

By identifying spec-level errors—issues that may not break the ad but still cause rejections at the ad server level—earlier in the production cycle, the client experienced a drastic reduction in revisions and “dead-on-arrival” creative submissions. 

Most notably, our custom-built tool empowers the SEBPO Team to scale creative output by over two times without a corresponding increase in cost, creating operating leverage that protects margins and enables profitable growth during peak demand periods.
